IFERROR Function in Excel.
Data analysis using any spreadsheet software is characterized by several errors. MS Excel 2016 has a different criterion for indicating that a certain value is an error, especially in functions. For example, the result of any calculation that results in a value of infinity after the computation is an error. In addition, any operations that are conducted on missing values result in displaying an error, this is also included when performing operations on texts that are usually done on number format data.
If an error is generated then MS Excel 2016 will display #value in the cell or #DIV/0!. However, this should not always be the case, another error statement can be displayed alternatively, to achieve this the IFERROR function in excel is utilized to carry out this command. The IFERROR command first identifies the error of the function, then it provides an alternative text or character to display in the event an error is observed. In other spreadsheets, the user can also define results that can be considered as errors and what should be the output if such an error is observed. This function in Excel eases reporting and creates ease of understanding when performing data analysis.
