If you want to install Java, you need exactly two things: 1. a development environment and 2. a JDK (Java Development Kit). In my opinion, the best development environment (IDE) is IntelliJ IDEA from JetBrains. It has the advantage that you can install the JDK right away.
Learning Java programming can seem complicated at first... but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it! :) I highly recommend following along with the #tutorial and trying the challenges! You'll make rapid progress in Java programming!
