Learn Teach Code Seoul - Databases!
Maybe you've been learning how to make websites or other applications. You can put things on a screen, but what if you need to save data? That's where a database is useful.
In this short workshop, we'll be setting up MariaDB (a fork of MySQL), manipulating data in the database, and putting together a tiny Python script to work with the database.
Why MariaDB? Why not MySQL?
From a usage perspective, MySQL and MariaDB are almost identical. There are some minor differences, but for most purposes, you can use them interchangeably. In many Linux repositories, MySQL has been replaced with MariaDB. MariaDB has slightly better performance and is generally preferred.
