Here's a tutorial on how to create one of my favorite VFX - the muzzle flash. I give a brief discussion of realistic vs. movie muzzle flashes, and then jump right into the tutorial to help you create a great looking realistic movie muzzle flash fashioned after the look we see in Blockbuster action movies. This is the type of muzzle flash audience's are used to seeing in their favorite action movies.

I'll also be producing a second tutorial focused on an indoor automatic rifle firing, delving more into some of the elements I discuss here such as interactive lighting, smoke, and realism vs. movie magic.

I've broken down this tutorial into short sections to help you find exactly what will be relevant to you to take your muzzle flashes to the next level.
