3 Tips For Learning To Code!
Starting to learn Python (or any language or even skill) can be daunting. It's easy to become overwhelmed with all the information that's out there.
These are 3 quick tips I wish I had been told when starting my coding journey. I've found them to be super useful and I hope sharing them will help others too!
The first tip may seem counterintuitive but I think weening yourself off tutorials as soon as you can will pay off big time in the future. Tutorials can give you a really narrow understanding and also bias your outlook to your teacher's perspectives. It's much better to start coding up your own projects as soon as you can. That way you learn so much more.
Tip number two is to be fearless! Don't fear making mistakes. I know how easy it is to let fear hold you back from progressing. You're so scared of making a mistake or breaking something that you just end up limiting yourself. Try to throw off this fear and push forwards. If something doesn't work then learn from it!
Finally, I would say don't try to be too perfect, especially when starting out. If you worry too much about a fully-optimised, efficient solution you can start to limit your progress. Sometimes it's important to just get it working as fast as you can and build on that; or even rebuild!
