Testing defrost timer

Here I am testing the defrost timer. I do a manual defrost and it will defrost but only for maybe seven min. The heating element works fine and the timer works fine too. Process of elimination brings me to the thermostat.
7/2/2021 Ok so, I got a new thermostat and installed it. My fridge still did not defrost. Yes, the thermostat is brand new and does work. So, why is it still not defrosting???? Well, no other videos that I have seen will even mention this. My fridge did not defrost because it was low on FREON. Yes, it was low. The thermostat has to drop to close to 25° F before it begins to operate normal. You will find this info for your thermostat in the paper that comes with your fridge (or the thermostat itself). It's usually taped to bottom of the fridge in the vent but could be anywhere.
