Message Passing Interface for Python
This lecture introduces mpi4py, a Python interface to the Message Passing Interface (MPI) for parallel distributed memory computing. MPI is a common standard for running parallel programs on supercomputers. The main point of the lecture is to gain familiarity with programming parallel distributed memory computers, from within the convenience of Python scripting. The lecture gives examples of point-to-point and collective communications, and of blocking and nonblocking communications.
