Index Function:

Match Function:
The MATCH function is used to find the position (row or column number) of a specified value within a range. Its syntax is as follows:

=MATCH(lookup_value, lookup_array, [match_type])

To perform an Index-Match operation, you use the MATCH function to find the row or column number that meets your specific criteria, and then feed that result into the INDEX function to retrieve the desired value from the data table.
