BASIC CSS MARGIN TUTORIAL - CSS TUTORIAL FOR BEGINNERS #6
This css tutorial is for beginners and the sixth in the series from css tutorials for absolute beginners right from scratch. This tutorial explains all the css margin properties and shows how to make different types of css margins based on these properties: How to set margins for individual sides, margin shorthand property for the four values of margins that shows margins for all the four sides, margin property for three values, two values and one value. It also teaches how to do horizontal centering with auto margin property. Another property, namely, inherit property ensures that by using it, the child element can inherit that property from the parent element. Next is the margin collapse property margin collapse property- only for top and bottom margins. In this case the top and bottom margins collapse to a single margin of the largest value of the two. The margins when doing shorthand are mentioned in the clockwise direction, namely, top, right, bottom and left. In the case of four values, the shorthand property will follow the above clockwise direction. In the case of three values, this shorthand property will indicate the first value for the top, second value for the right and left and the third value for the bottom margin. In the case of two values, this shorthand property will indicate the first value for top and bottom and the second value for right and left margins. In the case of one value, this shorthand property will indicate that this value is the same for all the four sides.
