kali linux either in a Virtual Machine or Windows Subsystem for Linux
metasploit framework installed on kali linux
python 2.7 or higher
Notepad++
Commands:
nano filename ---- nano text editor for linux
python filename
!mona jmp r esp ---- use command in immunity debugger only
pattern_create.rb l 2500 ---- creates a pattern 2,500 characters long
pattern_offset.rb q eip value -l 2500 --- gets the offset of the above pattern to tell you the exact size of the buffer
