Booth's Algorithm:
Booth's Algorithm is the Algorithm to make the Serial Binary Multiplication process little faster. In conventional Serial Binary Multiplication (using Add and Shift Method), for the multiplication of two N-bit numbers, it requires N arithmetic operations and N shift operations.
As the number of bits increases, the processing time to complete one multiplication also increases.

The Booth's algorithm is useful when there is a consecutive 1s or 0s in the number. As per this algorithm, if there are consecutive 0s or 1s in the number then the number of arithmetic operation during the multiplication process can be reduced. Moreover, this algorithm also works with the singed numbers. (The multiplication of signed numbers)

This algorithm checks two bits (Q0 and Q-1 bits) during each iteration and based on these two bits either add, subtract or no arithmetic operation is performed. And after that, Arithmetic Right Shift (ARS) operation is performed. This process is repeated until all the bits of the multiplier are checked.
If the multiplier is N-bit number then the multiplication process requires N iteration.
