ABA functional testing part two
Live testing of a dual accumulator ABA system. Manually draining the brake accumulators simulates a hydraulic leak in the service brake system. You can see the brake impending light illuminate when the accumulator pressure drops to 1500psi....and then the emergency brake automatically applies(red brake light on) at 1000psi. This is an important test a technician or operator can do to prove the system works...performing this during a ramp or moving test would be even more conclusive as it proves the spring brakes ability to stop the machine.
