comments in java

comments are the Statements that are not executed by the compiler because compiler ignores comments.
Comments provide information regarding:
The program
the classes
the methods etc.
We can also comment code to hide it and that piece of code will also not execute.
There are three types of comments in java:
Single line comments
Multiline comments
Documentation comments
Single line Comments:
As name shows single line comments are on one line
Single line comments starts with //
E.g.
//this program will print hello world
Multiline Comments:
If your comment expands over more than one line use multiline comments
Multiline comments starts with /* and ends at */
E.g.
/*
this is a multiline comment.
as it expands over more than one lines
*/
documentation comments are also like multiline comments but they contain special tags which are used in documentation.
