SCADA Development on Linux containers
We will be discussing the practical application docker for Ignition with all the trimmings, such as a database, persistent hard drive, and multiple gateways. This video is to outline what you need to develop SCADA applications for FREE. Yes, that’s right, ignition lets you reset a trail of the full version including the modules lasting 2 hours long.
I have seen some videos on YouTube about using docker for ignition, but nothing shows those new to docker containers how to use all of the benefits of this software.
Unlike other tutorials. I will be showing you how easy it is to get set up with VSCode, once you have the required software on your computer. You can deploy your containers without ever leaving VS Code, using the docker extension!!!! (Docker Desktop running)
Once we have created this setup, we can start developing and exploring the Ignition ecosystem. Setup gateway networks for data and backups, set up MQTT transmitters and receivers, etc.
