Today, I explored the concept of developing performance tasks as a learner-centered and authentic approach to assessment. Unlike traditional tests, performance tasks require students to apply knowledge, think critically, and produce meaningful outputs.
Through frameworks like GRASPS and aligned scoring rubrics, educators can design assessments that promote real-world problem-solving, higher-order thinking, and holistic learning.
Education should not only measure what students remember, but what they can meaningfully do.
