Processor Simulator: Computer Building and Programming
In this video, I demonstrate the new component connection system by setting up the entire 6502 computer system, and attaching peripherals like the monitor and VIA. The computer is first tested with the monitor-filling program, and then the Port B marquee program from previous videos is run with the new VIA visualizer component.
Processor Simulator is an in-progress experiment that explores the viability of block programming as a way to teach assembly language.
Implementing every instruction available in the original MOS 6502 processor, this simulator will serve as a platform for learning and experimentation incorporating innovative ways of using block programming, and eventually, a whole new form of hands-on learning.
