Creating AI Art with Python and the Hugging Face API: A Tutorial
Python AI art with the Hugging Face API is easier than you think — and in this tutorial, you’ll build a text-to-image generator step by step. If you’ve wanted to create Stable Diffusion-style images using Python, this video shows you exactly how to do it.
We start by generating a Hugging Face access token, then move into Visual Studio Code to create and activate a virtual environment. You’ll install required packages like transformers, diffusers, torch, and xformers, fix common torch installation errors, and securely store your API key using a .env file.
From there, we select a Stable Diffusion model directly from Hugging Face, copy the serverless API code, modify it to hide your token, and generate images from text prompts. Finally, we save the generated images (PNG or JPEG) directly to your project folder and run multiple prompts to test everything.
