Today's technology is based on the fact that they work with bits, 1s and 0s. An electrical charge is then stored and recognized as a 1 and otherwise empty and recognized as a 0. A traditional digital computer manipulates bits to perform data processing operations. As indicated, each bit can have a value of one or zero. This is the "traditional" implementation of today's computing.
A quantum computer works differently. There, quantum bits, also called qubits, are used. These can store 1s, 0s, separately or store both multiple 1s and 0s at the same time. That last step is known as superposition and is part of the quantum world.
