Linux/Unix Tutorial for Java installation and First Java Program
This tutorial comprises of the steps required for installation of Java on a Linux based system.
The tutorial also explains about how to write,compile and run your first Java program
1.) Download the java rpm from Oracle Java JDK website
2.) Locally install the rpm package using-
sudo yum localinstall jre-VERSION-linux-x64.rpm
3.)If in case there is multiple versions of Java installed on the server then we can change the default version using the alternatives option
sudo alternatives --config java
