In this video, I cover when and why you should manually register a SQL Server instance on an Azure VM. We’ll walk through multiple real-world scenarios where manual registration is required, the benefits of creating the Azure “SQL virtual machine” resource, and a hands-on demo installing SQL Server Express 2022 on Windows Server Datacenter 2022. I’ll also show the prerequisites you must have in place before running the PowerShell script.
