This tutorial takes you through the process of making a LAMP server on aws linux ec2 instance https encrypted instead of http. I warn you, this is a rough one folks, there are a lot of snags in setting up the apache server and the free https encryption certbot on it. I left the way I figured out how to get around and over those hurdles in in case you have a similar error so you get a feel for the debugging process which is definitely a rough one. In the end though you should have a free https encryped aws ec2 instance and a feel for how to change the configuration settings on your apache server should you ever need to. I also set up an cron job so that your cetificate auto-renews. I hope this is helpful to anyone who wants their relatively free aws website to be https rather than http and get around that nasty not secure warning that chrome gives.
