In the previous video, we discussed about Variable Scope. Now in this video, we will take a deep look into the Operators and Specially Arithmetic Operators.

Arithmetic Operators

1. + (Plus) Addition
2. - (Minus) Subtraction
3. * (Asterisk) Multiplication
4. / (Forward Slash) Division
5. % (Percent) Modulus (Division Remainder)

1. ++ (Plus- Plus) Increment (Postfix and Prefix)
2. -- (Minus - Minus) Decrement (Postfix and Prefix)
3. ** (Double Asterisk) Exponentiation

Arithmetic Operators Precedence
Sl. No. Operator Symbol Operator Precedence Description
1. ( ) Parentheses Always First
2. / (Slash) or * (Asterisk) Division or Multiplication (Which Comes First)
3. + (Plus) or - (Minus) Addition or Subtraction (Which Comes First)

Arithmetic Operators' Precedence can be described as a priority while performing arithmetic calculations. Division and Multiplication have the same precedence in JavaScript Arithmetic Calculation but both have higher precedence than Addition and Subtraction. While Addition and Subtraction have the same precedence. Just because JavaScript code processing is performed from Left to Right, the priority between Division and Multiplication will be preferred first as they are present in JavaScript Codes but higher than Addition and Subtraction, and the same thing applies to Addition and Subtraction.
