Welcome back to Episode 8 of Coding Made EG! I'm Sephali Singh, and today we are tackling a super important topic that causes a lot of hidden bugs for beginners: Operator Precedence.

Just like you learned BODMAS or PEMDAS in school for math, Python has its own strict set of rules for which operators it calculates first. If you don't know these rules, your code might give you completely wrong answers without actually showing any error messages!

In this video, we will take our time, code along together, and learn:
🔹 How Python ranks math operators (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Addition).
🔹 Why 10 + 5 * 2 equals 20 and not 30.
🔹 How to use parentheses to force Python to run your code in the exact order you want.
🔹 The order of precedence for our comparison and logic operators.

We are going to write out plenty of examples together in VS Code so this becomes second nature to you. Grab your coffee, open up your code editor, and let's make sure your Python math is always 100 percent accurate!

If you have any questions about how Python handles a specific math problem, drop a comment below and let's solve it together.

Make sure to hit Subscribe so you are ready for Episode 9, where we will finally teach our code how to make decisions!
