How to Decrease Your Website's Bounce Rate?
No matter how great you think your store might be you are not going to make very much money if people are not spending enough time on your site.
Bashar explains that a bounce rate is the number of people who leave your site in a hurry, or as Google defines it: the percentage of single page visits. It is in your best interest to reduce this rate so people will stay, explore your site and hopefully purchase from you.
If you have a high bounce rate Bashar recommends you make some changes to your user experience. You can do this by considering the following options
• Are they leaving because your site is not mobile friendly, or responsive?
A tool like Google analytics will tell you the number of users accessing your site from specific types of devices. If you have a large amount of visitors from mobile, or tablet, devices you might want to consider redoing your site so it is a responsive design.
• What are your conversion rates?
If you have low conversion rates perhaps you should step back and evaluate the message you are giving on your site.
• Implement social media logins
These days people have so many logins they really do not have time for another, and probably do not even want one. By giving your users the ability to use a social media login it makes it easy for visitors to show up and get busy on your site.
• Be careful with your popups
Although pop ups have a time and a place a lot of visitors may get annoyed with them and actually leave your site. So if you have a pop up on your site and notice you have a high bounce rate, perhaps turn it off and see if the bounce rate drops.
• Make sure your content is clear to the reader, and properly segmented
No one wants to spend too much time looking for an article, or content they need. Make sure all of the pertinent information your readers will need is easily available on your site to all readers when you need it.
