The Data Menu in Excel can help you load / connect to a variety of data sources and load data into excel in a more systematic way. The Data menu is powered by Power Query - A Powerful Data Transformation Engine.

In my opinion Power Query is the single most powerful feature in excel that can take away all the pains of working with multiple sources and data transformations.

Here is a quick overview of how to load multiple files using Get Data in Excel.
