Our most iconic species is dying. And Aussie Ark is doing something about it!
In a powerful collaboration with Ecosure and Endeavour Veterinary Ecology, Aussie Ark is working hard to establish a chlamydia-free wild Koala population in our Barrington Wildlife Sanctuary. And we've just taken the first major step, engaging the nation's best Koala ecologists and vets to catch and health check the eight Koalas naturally residing in the Sanctuary.
This pioneering pilot project will become a blueprint for Koala management nationwide, securing one of the most genetically robust cohorts of this beloved iconic animal.
