SSNQs are a system I created to learn short, simple, natural questions.
SSNQs are very common in spoken English and are a result of ellipsis.
Ellipsis is the omission of a word or words that are unnecessary because the speakers are able to understand meaning from what came before in the conversation.

This video gives 22 examples of SSNQs in context.
SSNQs are not usually used alone. It is better to pair them with a rejoinder so that you avoid sounding like you are conducting an interrogation. Thus, you'll also hear examples of rejoinders.

Each SSNQ represents a longer question, but we do not usually speak in long sentences when it is not necessary.

Learning to use SSNQs will help you:
sound more natural and fluent
speak more easily
speak with less hesitation
worry less about grammar

SSNQs simplify grammar. There are rules to follow because they must be grammatically sound.
