Get analysis-friendly data with API requests (Data Science)
Hi, Vadsha here. Welcome to my video on data science and music! In this tutorial, we will explore how data science can be used to analyze and understand musical trends and patterns.
We will disuss what data science is and what data scientists do. We will also explain how to get big data and how to prepare it for analysis using Python and the Pandas library.
Also, we will introduce you to the Last.fm API and show you how to connect to it using Python. We will demonstrate how to make API requests and retrieve music data from the Last.fm database (playcounts, listener counts and more!)
Using this data, we will in later videos create a Python DataFrame and perform some basic data manipulation and analysis. We will also be preparing to show you an example of how data science can be applied to the music industry.
