What it is: HTML, or HyperText Markup Language, is the standard language used to create the structure of a web page. While HTML does not usually control how a website looks or behaves, it provides the foundation that CSS can style and JavaScript can make interactive. In simple terms, HTML is like the skeleton of a website, giving the page its basic layout and meaning so browsers, search engines, and screen readers can understand the content.
