This tutorial introduces Mesh Analysis and explains how to use it to solve unknowns in circuits. I find it helpful to label on unknown branch currents before starting the problem, and then substituting the mesh currents in later. This reduces the chance of getting some terms with the wrong sign, but is not a necessary step, as most books will skip that part. Mesh analysis can be used to solve circuits with multiple loops, and in a later video, we'll go over some examples of supermesh analysis as well (we need to do that if there is a current source between two mesh currents).
This video is part of a full free course on electric circuits. The course covers DC circuits, circuit laws, current & voltage sources, series & parallel resistors, nodal analysis, mesh analysis, and AC circuits.
