Here's a quick tutorial on basic command terminal use -
Plus I throw in a cool Matrix program to run - to make it interesting
The code is available at the link below, and will ONLY run from a terminal.
If you want to use this on Windows it is very simple - follow the same steps (cd and ls do work in DOS)
The aim of this tutorial?
To teach basic navigation in a command terminal, but more importantly, to teach how to run a Python program from a terminal
As you learn programming this is a skill you will need. You will find a lot of programs are written solely for terminal use - like this Matrix effect code.

NOTE: This runs for me on Python 2.7 (2.7.9 and 2.7.11) Not tried it on Python 3
I did this video using Raspbian (Raspberry Pi Debian Variant) But I have run this on Windows 10 and Windows 7....using the EXACT same method, it just took a little more navigating to get to my Desktop directory (C:/Users/Username/Desktop)/python matrix_code.py) I have found that some WIndows systems don't require you to type 'python' before executing a Python code - just navigate to the folder in DOS and run: 'matrix_code.py'
