Unity Local Multiplayer on Same Keyboard (Easy Input System Tutorial)
In this Unity tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a local multiplayer system using the same keyboard with Unity’s new Input System.
We’ll focus specifically on how to set up:
Two separate Action Maps (Player 1 & Player 2)
Different keyboard controls for each player
PlayerInput setup in the Unity Inspector
How Unity automatically separates inputs per player
This tutorial does NOT focus on gameplay systems like shooting or level design. Instead, it teaches the core foundation of local multiplayer input, which you can use in any 2D or 3D game.
