Peterson’s Solution is a classic software-based algorithm used to solve the Critical Section Problem in Operating Systems. In this video, we clearly explain how Peterson’s Solution ensures the three fundamental requirements of process synchronization: Mutual Exclusion, Progress, and Bounded Waiting.

This lecture covers the working principle of Peterson’s algorithm using shared variables such as turn and flag, and explains why it is important from an academic and algorithmic perspective.
