Google Ads Optimization Score
The Google Ads Optimization Score is one piece of data that I don’t get too excited about.
It’s very tempting to get that Score up to near 100%. One way you can do that is accepting the recommendations. But it’s not always the right thing to do.
A higher score will not itself lead to better outcomes for your ads. Better outcomes are achieved by paying attention to your campaign structure, your ad copy, your keywords, and continuing to optimise these based on results.
So, you should look at the recommendations behind the Optimization Score and decide whether they make sense for your particular campaign. If you accept a recommendation, understand what you are changing and then monitor it for a few days or a couple of weeks and see whether the impact has been positive, neutral, or perhaps even negative.
If the outcome happens to be negative, you can change the setting back to its previous state.
If you don't want to accept a recommendation, dismissing it will also make your score go up.
