CONTENT:
00:00 Introduction, why gnuplot.
04:45 How a proper plot should look like, data vs model.
09:47 Should I use colors in my plots?
13:01 How to download gnuplot?
14:28 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁, 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
15:49 Choosing the output file format, i.e., the terminal type.
18:04 Our first gnuplot script file that plots to a png file.
21:34 Configure our png terminal.
23:42 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.
26:46 Formating the ranges of the axes of the plot.
28:39 Ading labels to the axes.
29:20 Simple mathematical manipulations of the data in the plot.
30:20 Formating the numbers on the axes to proper number of digits.
32:05 Adding a grid to our graph and adjusting the tic marks on the scales.
32:59 Formating the legend in the plot.
33:41 Changing the ploting style and color of our graph.
37:04 Reducing the data set by plotting only every 50th datapoint.
38:14 Adding a title to the plot.
39:40 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.
42:25 working with the PDF terminal that allows for more advanced formatting.
43:14 Adding greek symbols to our plot.
46:37 Three different ways to format data; dots, points, or linespoints and changing the size of the points.
47:37 Adding a trend-line via linear regression on our data.
50:40 Making a proper model of the resisitivty via regression of data.
54:40 Adding the fitted parameters into the plot legend.
58:24 Doing regression on only part of your data.
01:01:42 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝘀.
01:08:21 More advanced operations with the EVERY option of the plot command to pick out data blocks.
01:10:44 Adding error bars to our graph.
01:15:43 Making a model for a non-linear dataset and fit it to our dataset.
01:20:21 Adding the fitting parameters to the legend including its errors.
01:22:59 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁, 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.
01:29:12 Removing datalines from the datafile in our plot with EVERY option of plot command.
01:32:15 Adding labels to our graph.
01:33:46 Picture in picture i.e., PIP of a zoomed in data section of our plot.
01:42:29 How to preprocess your data before plotting, here we use the AWK tool.
01:43:25 How to download AWK tool and how to start it up.
01:44:33 Making a script for our AWK tool to preprocess our datafile via an intergration.
01:52:13 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲.
01:56:28 Using AWK to process data from galvanostatic charge/discharge cycling of electrochemical cell.
02:05:03 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗪𝗞 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹.
