SUMMARY:
-Blockstorage
-Direct storage (physically attached, not network)
-High I/O performance
-Ephemeral(temporary,notpersistent)
-Data will be lost if: The underlying disk drive fails, the instance stops, the instance hibernates or the instance terminates. PS: Rebooting is OK. Data is preserved.
-Instance Store depends on EC2 instance type–some have it, some do not
-Some EC2 instance types come with more than one Instance Store Volume
-EBS Volumes can still be attached to instances with Instance Store as usual
-An instance store volume cannot be moved from one instance to another
-If you create an AMI from an instance, data on its instance store isn't preserved
