A small demonstration I whipped up that uses a heightmap to generate a grassy terrain, and bi-linear interpolation to get smooth walking across the terrain. The program generates a set of points in 3D space, which are then connected as quads and then textured.
This is also one of the few instances where I've had to store the terrain data in video memory by utilizing a display list.
The program is currently set to create a 1280x720 window (720p) so you might want to change that to whatever you want if you download this.
This program uses LWJGL for OpenGL calls and window management, and slick-utils for texture loading.
