Stop Auto Adding New Fields to Forms in Quickbase
Are you tired of your new fields automatically being added to the bottom of your Quickbase forms? Then having to go in and adjust where they should go. This one setting will save you from ever dealing with this again!
If you're working on a live version of your Quickbase, this can be even more frustrating as you have to scramble to make the updates before anyone sees the fields in the wrong place!
In this video, I'll walk you through the three steps to forever changing the 'cleanup' you have to do after creating new fields.
1. From a record, click "Customize this Form"
2. Open the form Properties
3. Using the drop-down, select "Do Nothing" or "Ask whether the fields should be added to this form"
Then sit back and relax!

FROM THE VIDEO: "In this video, I'll show you how to stop automatically adding new fields to the bottom of your forms. You'll want to first open a record in your Quickbase where you want to make the change. Click on customize this form. From here you'll click on the properties tab. At the bottom of this section, you'll see a drop-down option. This will control whether or not the fields are added to the bottom of your form. You can choose 'Do nothing' which will not add the fields at all, the default which is to 'Automatically add the fields to the bottom of the form,' or what I prefer to do which is to 'Ask whether the fields should be added to the bottom of this form.' Let's see what that looks like. We'll save our changes. We'll go into settings and add a new field. Now you can see a pop-up box that asks whether or not we want to add the new field to the forms. We can check the box and this will add the fields to the bottom of the form. Or we can just click OK which will allow us to go in ourselves and add the fields where we choose."
