In this video we continue on exactly where we left of in the previous video, and expand our save/load functionality to support multiple mobs as well as the player.
Note though that this is just example code really, and I've done no error checking on the data that we're loading from the file! This isn't great in a final project, but was to save a little time at this stage. We might add some obvious sanity checks though, soon, when we move this code out of the player class.
I also introduce a situation that calls for the use of a mob factory, but don't worry! If you don't have one I go over how to achieve essentially the same effect without one at the end of the video.
Factories are fantastic things to have, so I will definately cover their design and development at some point, even if it is just an overview at first.
Future topics to cover (STILL) Proxy and Flyweight design patterns, writeReplace(), readResolve() and dealing with multiple save files.
Encryption and basic security may be covered either at the end of the series or as a seperate series afterwards.
