An introduction to the Transient modifier in Java!

After this video, you should be able to save and load a player data file, and set the player's data to the fields in the saved / loaded file. I only demostrate the position being set, but you can of course set HP, position, score... etc etc. Anything you like :)

Next time we will be changing the return type of the SaveGame load method to a list of mobs, and taking a look at the limitations of the transient keyword.

We'll then begin exploring a more complicated but more scalable method we can use to save larger data sets.

Future topics to cover include basic data encryption, Proxy and Flyweight design patterns, writeReplace(), readResolve() and dealing with multiple save files.
